The highs and the lows
Well I have had a mixed week. Got ill again over the weekend so I spent most of it in bed including Monday. Meant I missed the monthly Worship & Tech Team gathering which was a shame, but there is always next month. Talking of Tech Team I am going to have my first training session on the HTB Sound Desk this Sunday. Just means I have to be there by 8AM! But looking forward to it as I haven’t done any sound work for just over a month, it’s been nice to have a break though.
Saturday night I took some pain killer and went out with Emma & Dan to see Delirious? at the IndigO2. Was a good venue and the band was good as always. It’s their last UK tour with the drummer Stuart as he is leaving to do Graphic Design. So it was their last time playing at the original group - glad I made it. Also got a free cool book at the end. So it was totally worth it. You can check out the full array of photos and videos on my Facebook profile.

Had staff meeting on Tuesday, there were no delays on the district line this week so I didn’t have to take a bus. And the free breakfast was back, had my fair share of croissants that morning! Alpha just officially brought a new office which we will be moving into early August. So a group of us went to have our photo taken outside for the internal news. So I’m making headlines already!

Later on that day we had a tour of the building, it needs a lot of work but once it’s complete it’s going to be pretty amazing. Our office is on the top floor with a nice view over the science museum. Will be great.
Then that night I had pastorate! Woohoo! Got to get to know a few more people as it was a social event this time round and Rachel had made a chocolate fondue. Was all very nice. Later we played a game called kingdoms where you each pick a celebrity name for yourselves and then you have to guess other people’s celebrity names. If you guess right they join your kingdom. As always I went in as Steve Jobs (no one knew/remembered I worked for Apple so I was safe). However as the game went on Tim guessed me so I had to join his kingdom. A few guesses later and Tim had been guessed by another Tim so we joined his kingdom. In the end there were four kingdoms left. Tim (not Hughes, dunno his surname lol), Rachel, Phil and Ally. Can I just say that Tim was the only person not to guess his partner’s celebrity name! Rachel won in the end, much to Tim’s disgust lol. However in his defence when we found out Tim was Kylie he did say (jokingly) that Rachel better not be Prince William… and she was. All in all a fantastic night to end a great day.
Today was pretty boring, but hey they can’t all be jam packed. Got to play a bit of Army of Two on my xbox 360 (first time I have played it since I have moved) so that was pretty nice. Just taking it easy
I have cooked way too much food recently, it’s all mounting up in the fridge. I haven’t actually been shopping for two weeks. I brought way too much a few weeks ago so I have been slowly making my way through it all. Talking of food I have just remembered I have some ice-cream in the freezer! So I’m off to get some. Less then two weeks until I am back on Guernsey. I’ll see you all soon. Bye.
